General Questions

It depends on what you want. Pricing information is here.
Sure, feel free to email me at I'm very friendly and won't tell you your photo sucks even if it's true. I'll probably say something delicate like "Your photo is great but you might consider a little more light because I can't tell if that is a cat or a dog. :) :P haaha lol."

Or you can try this...

New Feature!

Test your Photo

On some of the collections, you can upload your own photo. Once you upload it, it is displayed behind the clothes and accessories in the window. You can then move your photo and your clothes using the following controls:
  • Your finger or mouse: Before you can move anything on the lower layers, you have to select it using the buttons:
  • Increase size
  • Decrease size
  • Rotate left
  • Rotate right
  • Flip back
  • Note: If you rotate the image, the Flip buttons don't remember your initial rotation. Sorry.
You can also visit the Wall of Fame & Shame for more information on the kinds of photos that work best.
Because I'm generally incompetent.

For prints and tee shirts, I use 1- or 2-day priority mail, depending on how far you are from me (I'm in Austin, Texas.) For framed prints and other things that require a large box that will crush my tiny scale / will require me to schlep your stuff to the Post Office, it'll take at most a week after I ship it.

Everywhere Else

I don't know, probably like a week? If you're worried about it, email me ( and I'll get back to you.
This process is quite simple. All you need to do is:
  1. Look through my collections and find an outfit suitable for the pet.
  2. Click on the image or the name of the collection in the sidebar. You are taken to the Choose your Clothes page.
  3. Optional: Use the arrows to choose your clothes and/or accessories.
  4. Enter the pet's name. A popup is displayed asking if you want to add another pet to the portrait. Click or tap the appropriate option. If you choose "Hell Yeah!," repeat steps 1 through 3. Otherwise, the Photo Edit or Drawing? page is displayed.
  5. Choose whether you want a Photo Edit or a Drawing. The difference is explained thoroughly on that page. The Photo Upload page is displayed.
  6. Upload your photo(s). The Cart page is displayed.

Note: Before you get to this step, you might want to visit the Wall of Fame & Shame for more information on the kinds of photos that work best.

  7. Ensure that your cart is set up correctly, and click or tap "Continue". The Cart page is refreshed to reveal a shitload of text fields for all your info and whatnot.
  8. Enter your info, and click or tap the "Place Order Now" button.
  9. Note: Do not click or tap the "Place Order Now" button multiple times. Although, if you get an error, double-check your info and click or tap the "Place Your Order" button again. If you still get an error, feel free to contact me at

Ahh! Sorry, you currently have to place orders for portraits individually. The site saves your information, so when you've added selections to your cart and try to go back to add another one, it remembers what you've selected and thinks you want to edit that one.

Workaround: If you want to order a lot of portraits, just increase the quantity by however many you want. Then email me ( with screenshots of your clothing selections and the respective photos.

I offer returns on all merchandise. If the item was damaged or otherwise not as described, I will reimburse your return shipping. Otherwise, you are responsible for shipping. Once I receive the item, I will send whatever I owe you.

Note: If you had a portrait with a frame, and you either don't like the frame or it is damaged, then you can remove the print and ship the frame back to me. Then I will send you a refund for just the frame (and shipping, if applicable).

Custom Portraits

I offer returns on custom portraits only if I haven't started drawing it yet. For instance, if you place your order, realize that my work is crap and you deeply regret your decision, then just send me an email expressing your sudden distaste for my style of pet portraiture, and I'll send you a refund (given that I've been laying around eating chips in my underwear, and not working on your order, which is likely). Also, if you approve of the print but you don't like how the print came out (for instance, I overlooked a botched printing job), then you should send me a photo of what you think is botched, I'll send you a new print.

Hell yes. When you build your portrait, you are asked if you want to add another pet. Click the Yes button, and you are taken back to a list of collections.

Note: When you check out, the thumbnail image that is displayed will not show exactly what you ordered. It'll just be like a generic image.

I either use Epson cold press or Epson photo paper. Both are acid-free and stupidly expensive. But, it makes the prints look very, very nice, and they won't fade over time. So I guess it's worth it. Here's what Epson has to say:

Photo Paper

This is one of our highest performing photo papers. Features the same Luster E surface (orange peel) of traditional silver halide prints. A favorite among professional photographers.

Cold Press Paper

An acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish. This paper has an extremely-high color gamut and black density.

At the moment, there is no way to choose which you want, so I just print on whatever, since they're both great options. If you have a preference, please let me know in the Comments box when you check out.
Good question. Glad you asked. It's important, especially for the photo-edit option. First of all, the pet should be well lit. Second, the camera should be at eye-level with the pet. There should also be a lot of contrast between the subject and the background; for instance, if it's a dark pet, then there should be a light background. The pet's face should also be mostly symmetrical. For examples of good and bad photos, see my Wall of Fame and Shame.
I offer two types of portraits: readymade and custom. Readymade portraits allow you to select from pre-drawn clothes - I just draw the face, or use a photograph that you upload. Custom portraits are totally customized, so if you don't see an outfit that you want, then you can fill out a form to let me know what outfit you'd like.
The clothes are drawings, but you have the option to have me draw the head onto the clothes, or have me photo-edit your photo onto them.
